This is a series of votive paintings or ex-votos that illustrate the story of the cult The Heaven’s Gate which committed suicide on March 1997 believing that behind the comet Hale-Bopp was an UFO waiting to transport them beyond this world to the kingdom of heaven. Each votive painting is the final statement of each member of the Away Team, name they choose for this last ride. This series of paintings are an invitation to leave the door open to believe that everything can be possible as I have done myself.
